Is The World’s Largest Haunted House In Gilroy?

Well, it is according to their flier and the minimal promotion they do for the event. Housed in the old Wal-Mart building on Arroyo Circle, it seems they may have a shot at the title of World’s Largest Haunted House, but reality doesn’t seem to live up to the ‘hype’.

First off, there’s the fact that despite being a huge Halloween fan I’ve never heard a single review of this haunt in the three years I’ve spent in South County. The only reason I know it exists at all is because I happen to drive by it on my way to Kaiser about once a month. A few of Zaira’s school friends did reportedly visit this year, but I haven’t heard word one about their experience.

Much as I love Halloween I’m not a big fan of haunted houses themselves, so I’m not willing to drop $25.00 for Zaira and I to wind our way through their ‘maze’.  Based on the sole review I was able to find on the web today (from Haunted Bay), we’re not missing much.

If you’ve visited we’d love to hear what you think!  Just leave a comment to let us (and future visitors) know what your experience was like.  Until then, I think we’ll stick with the Mutant Creek Hayride at Uesegi Farms in Morgan Hill.  BTW, I’m pretty sure the World’s Largest Haunted House title actually goes to Erebus in Pontiac, MI.
