All Aboard Junction Train Store NOT Closing!!
No one likes to admit that they’ve made a mistake, but this time I’m more than happy to do so…
Good news for model train lovers: I was completely wrong in my post last week titled All Aboard Junction Train Store To Close
The store is, in fact, not closing! JoeInsider reported his doubts in a comment on that post and I promised to investigate further. Well, I’ve received word from the horse’s mouth (so to speak) that they’ve signed a new lease that is good through the end of 2010! Woohoo!
So it seems that the culprit wasn’t actually underspending on trains after all. Rather, it was a landlord looking to renegotiate. Apparently the landlord took a second look around at all of Gilroy’s empty storefronts and decided that a tenant paying some rent was better than notenant paying more rent after all. Good for them, good for the kind folx at All Aboard Junction, and good for train lovers all over South County. Dontchya just love a happy ending?
